What Is Kansas HealthWave?
HealthWave and HealthConnect are low cost or no cost health plans for Kansans. There are no exclusions for preexisting health conditions or deductibles to be met. Coverage includes medical, dental, mental, behavioral health, and substance abuse services:  it emphasizes preventing health problems through regular checkups, or minimizing their costs through early diagnosis.

Who Qualifies
You or your child may qualify for Kansas health insurance if he or she:
1) Is a Kansas Resident.
2) Is under the age of 19 (If 18, separate applications must be submitted).
3) Is a U.S. citizen or a documented non-U.S. citizen.
4) Meets the current income guidelines* listed on the application. See the section titled help with the application process

Please be apprised that the above-listed student insurance is provided by Baldwin City USD 348 as a courtesy to you. It is meant to be secondary coverage therefore, provides very limited coverage and benefits. It is also organized so that the full responsibility for completion of the paperwork, submittal to medical provider, and all contacts are made by you as the parent after the accident report is filed by the staff member sponsoring the activity in which the accident occurred. The District only provides you with the accident report and insurance claim. Everything else is your responsibility. The District is not responsible for an expense incurred which the insurance fails to cover.

The proper forms can be obtained from the school office in the building your child attends.
