Lincoln Field Trip

Forty-Three Baldwin Intermediate Center 5th graders traveled to Springfield, IL on May 1-2 to visit several of national sites relating to our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. They visited Lincoln’s Tomb, the old Illinois State Capitol, the Lincoln-Herndon Law Office, the Lincoln Depot, the Lincoln Presidential Museum and the Lincoln Home.

They were accompanied by staff members: Erick Bailey, Michel Bonham, Kim Heckathorne, Tom Mundinger and Doug Woolery, along with nine parents. The trip was a culmination of several year-long activities which focused on the anniversary of Lincoln’s 200th birthday celebration.
